Two homes were badly damaged in a two-alarm fire Friday morning.
Crews from the Renton Regional Fire Authority and Puget Sound Fire were dispatched to the home in the 17000 block of 159th Pl. SE. in the Fairwood neighborhood. It then spread to the roof of the home next door.
Firefighters battled the flames for about an hour.
No one was hurt. Fire officials said a neighbor quickly jumped into action to help one of the families evacuate.
"Now one thing to note about this one is there is a neighbor who went to the house and was able to help the two people in that house evacuate safely and did a very good thing in order to help save their lives," Puget Sound Fire Division Chief Pat Pawlak said.
The interiors of both homes have significant damage.
