When you get started in woodworking the tools are exciting but also very daunting. It seems that we need so many tools just to build that first project. That's not exactly true. Certainly there are a lot of tools that will make things easier and faster but they are absolutely necessary. What I have assembled is a bare bones kit of tools that will allow you to do quite a lot and I actually walk through a bit of a cabinet I'm building using only this small collection of tools to demonstrate just how effective this starter set can be.
