This is a short treatment outcome awareness video of a limb salvage surgery for bone cancer(sarcoma).

Osteosarcoma is an aggressive bone cancer. Multi-modality treatment is recommended with early initiation, which involves combination of chemotherapy and surgery. Large volume tumours pose a challenge to save the limb due to involvement of critical structures. Good response to chemotherapy plays an important role in limb salvage surgery in such situations.
This is short surgical outcome video of Osteosarcoma of distal femur in 12 year student.
He presented with an open biopsy contaminating the quadriceps mechanism. Inappropriately done biopsies are one of major causes of amputation, due to contamination.
This young adult underwent chemotherapy followed by Limb saving surgery. The surgery involved safe removal of the bone cancer, which was followed by reconstruction of the cavity with combination of plate-screws and bone cement.
This modality of reconstruction enables walking from next day of surgery.
