The boys camp the shores of Bear Lake as we fish for late fall spawning Lake Trout, Cutthroat Trout, and even haul in a Mirror Carp. This is one of the most popular lakes, dwelling on the northern border of Utah. A popular place for boaters, beach dwellers, and rock throwing Jimmy's alike.... It was amazing to have the shores and campground all to ourselves as the weather dipped down towards the 30's making this one chilly and thrilling adventure.
Bear Lake is a natural freshwater lake on the Idaho–Utah border in the Western United States. About 109 square miles in size, it is split about equally between the two states; its Utah portion comprises the second-largest natural freshwater lake in Utah, after Utah Lake. (Source: Wikipedia)
Success was sparse as the rocky bottoms and shallow fall water levels after a low rain/snowfall year led to many snags and tough jigging conditions. The fellas ain't got no boat so we grinded it out hoping for some shallow spawners. The fish we caught were brought in on tube jigs which is always a go to for the cutthroat squad.
