Researchers explored long stretch of the Indian Ocean off Java's southern coast as well as the Sunda Strait
The researchers examined 63 sites as they sailed from Jakarta to Cilacap town in southern Java and back
They found more than 12,000 creatures from roughly 800 species during the two week long expedition
