At Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, our pelvic pain specialists provide a functional, rehab approach to pelvic pain. When you visit one of our offices, you spend an hour with your doctor reviewing in detail your medical history and symptoms. Then, we perform an internal exam (no speculum) to evaluate your nerves and muscles. Together, we'll discuss an individual treatment plan that gets to the root cause of your pain and helps you to feel better. The best part: you can begin treatment the same day!
At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms.

Hi, my name is Dr. Tayy Ahmed. I am a pelvic pain physician at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine in the Manhattan, New York Location and the Great Neck, Long Island location. My approach to pelvic pain is a holistic total body approach. The way I treat pelvic pain is treating the entire body. The entire body is a unit and you can't treat one part without treating the other. So for many of our patients, we have pelvic floor dysfunction and understanding where that pelvic floor dysfunction is coming from. For some people, it's coming and affecting their rectum and affecting bowel movements. For other people, it affects their urinary system. And for other people it can affect their sexual function. So I think what's missing often in other healthcare offices is not looking at the total body and not being able to understand how it's all connected. And very often the pelvic floor is the missing link. So if you feel like you're not getting a total body approach and your care is kind of piecemeal, you may want to come into our office and we can take a better look. Bring all your imaging with you, any lab work or notes you may from previous providers, including GYN, GI doctors, any pain management doctors your may have seen, and I'm happy to take a look, if you need a second opinion, and we can talk about what options you haven't tried, any medications, injections, suppositories, physical therapy, all those. We can talk about all of that, and try to figure out a new plan that works a little bit better and gets you a better quality of life to get you moving and doing the things that you love.
