Gurnza is one of Houston’s most influential underground artists. Kenyan made, Texas raised. At a very tender age (5 years old). Gurnza would spend numerous hours on the TV watching his idol “Lil Wayne’s” music videos. This greatly inspired him of his dream of being the greatest rapper of his generation.
Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Wayne Ndago “Gurnza” was born on September, 23 in Nairobi.Little after this, his parents moved to TX, where they opted to fulfill the American dream.Gurnza was an academically talented student who was an honor roll up to adolescents. He was constantly in the studio and gave his studies little attention,
Though he never lived in the hood, he was exposed to gang activates through his friends in school, by the age of 13 he was a member of a neighborhood gang (5th Ward circle), and at 14 he was found guilty of battery & assault, paraphernalia, and several more charges. He was incarcerated for 9 months at one of the Regional Juvenile detention centers.
He got out when he was 15 where he dropped an EP album ‘Black Romans,’ seeing what the street life really was he wanted to inspired teenager’s on the block to do bet...
