Many people believe the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp made it's debut in South Carolina in July of 1988 when Chris Davis was attacked by a 7-foot tall creature with red eyes. But rumors of a strange lizard-like humanoid roaming Scape Ore Swamp started before the Chris Davis encounter. For months during the summer of 1988, citizens around Browntown and Bishopville, South Carolina were petrified. People were being attacked by a 7 foot tall bipedal creature in and around the Scape Ore Swamp area. No one was safe. Everyone was locking their doors. Then, the story went viral, and the small town of Bishopville soon became the Lizardman capital of the world!
