Liam Fox's Hearts B won last time out in the league 4-2 at home against table toppers East Kilbride FC.
After an early opener from the home side, Rovers came into the match and eventually got a deserved leveller from a Niyah Joseph penalty firing home not long into the 2nd half.
Rovers Keeper Ross Connelly saved a spot kick before Hearts B re-took the lead just after the hour and some slack defending being punished.
Albion Rovers looked for a equaliser and thought they had a penalty late on, but the referee reversed his original decision and Rovers were unlucky to leave Ainslie Park with at least a share of the spoils as Hearts B held on for the win.
