More children are seeking treatment for chronic pain, which can last for as long as several years. KK Women's and Children's Hospital saw some 130 cases last year alone, double the number from three years ago. KKH's Children's Pain Management Clinic is the first specialist clinic of its kind in Singapore and the region, which manages complex chronic pain in an outpatient setting. For the hospital's efforts in pain management and education, it has become the first medical institution outside of the US and Canada to be certified by international organisation ChildKind.
