We are here to talk about tips for food allergy and how to manage them for both kids and their parents. The biggest thing I would say is we want you to be safe and avoid the foods but also not to be overly doing it.
We have food anxiety. We have food fear. We do not go out to things that are able to be done. We could talk to you about things where you do have to worry about. For example, you have to worry about certain foods like Indian foods where cashews might be mixed in the curries.
For certain things, you do not have to worry about. For example, Chick-Fil-A and peanut allergy. There is no correlation with that.
The biggest thing is to educate you. Be safe, but not overdoing it. And then if the food is really bothersome and it is somewhat affecting your daily life, come in and we could talk.
There are treatments now. Things have changed now than it was 10 or 15 years ago. Now, we have desensitization treatments. We have certain protocols that we can do to really help the body tolerate some amount of certain foods that they are or were allergic to.
