This video is all about classification of fungicides that are used for plant disease management. For simplicity of our understanding, we can classify fungicides on the basis of mobility in plant, general use, mode of action, site of inhibition in target fungi and chemical nature. The differences between contact fungicides, systemic fungicides and locally systemic fungicides are also discussed. Some important terms like translaminar movement of fungicides, apoplastic movement and symplastic movements are elaborated. More discussion on the chemical classes of fungicides will be held in subsequent video lectures.
