The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management has developed the Adopt-A-Drain program to help improve the quality of stormwater within the City of Atlanta’s watersheds and inform the City about infrastructure maintenance needs.
Volunteers that adopt a storm drain in their neighborhoods commit to cleaning the drain of leaves and other debris and then monitor the condition of that drain.
Residents who adopt a stormdrain will be given simple instructions and guidelines on how to notify Department of Watershed Management of any problems with the stormdrain. In exchange for agreeing to adopt a drain, volunteers will receive supplies that will assist in keeping the drain clean.
