A leaked image and video have ignited a major controversy surrounding Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently jailed for his alleged involvement in a murder case. The viral photo shows Darshan casually sitting with a coffee mug in one hand and a cigarette in the other, engaged in a relaxed conversation with three individuals, including notorious rowdy sheeter Wilson Garden Naga, co-accused Kulla Seena, and his manager Nagaraj. The photo, allegedly taken inside Parappana Agrahara prison, has sparked outrage over the VIP treatment reportedly afforded to the actor. In another video accessed by India Today, Darshan is seen on a video call with two other criminals, including Dharma, who is also accused of murder. The footage has raised serious concerns about security breaches within the prison system. In response, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered the transfer of Darshan and the other suspects to different barracks. State Home Minister G Parameshwara has suspended several prison officials and demanded a report from the DG. The controversy has also prompted calls from the BJP for a judicial probe, while the Congress government assures an internal inquiry is underway.
