The Tempur-Pedic brand first started in the 1990s in Sweden, but these memory foam beds quickly become popular around the world, thanks to the Tempur foam included in their construction. This material was first created by NASA in the 1960s to help absorb shock waves, but Tempur-Pedic used Tempur foam to create plush, body-contouring, and pressure relieving memory foam mattresses. Now, Tempur-Pedic offers three main mattresses on their website — The TEMPUR-Cloud, TEMPUR-Adapt, and TEMPUR-Breeze — along with Pro and Luxe versions of some of these beds. The brand also offers hybrid models that are slightly more durable and stable than their original all-foam beds. However, these luxury mattresses are often on the pricier side, ranging in price from $1,999 to $5,599 for a queen sized Tempur-Pedic mattress.

Because of this, many other mattress companies have taken a note from Tempur-Pedic and started making their own high-quality memory foam beds. However, these brands are usually more budget-conscious, which is good news for shoppers who are looking for the qualities of a Tempur-Pedic bed without the high price point.
