Lukashenko, the Belarusian dictator has said that the Wagner mercenaries, in Belarus, are "stressing him out" because they want to attack Poland. So, what are the chances? There are about 5 thousand Wagner troops in Belarus. Most of their major equipment, including artillery and armoured vehicles were transferred to the Russian army when they fled Russia. In contrast to this rabble, the Polish army is a large, professional army that is constantly being upgraded and prepared for war. Poland has already received the first 28 K2 Black Panther tanks with another 150 shortly on their way. Then of course there are the 1 thousand KTO Rosomak APC’s that a more than a match for anything Russia has, let alone Wagner. Let’s not even get into the F-16’s prowling the skies. But the most powerful deterrent, an unadulterated hate, formed from years under Russian oppression, including multiple atrocities. If all that isn’t enough, then the 5000 NATO personnel and the risk of an Article 5 leading to a NATO march through Minsk and then Moscow, should do the trick.
