Toyota RA40 - First Classic Car at Rallysprint...
Neal Bates fought off the many Ford Escorts and was the first of the classic cars at last weekend's Volksmuller Rallysprint. Bates had regular Co-Driver Coral Taylor sitting in with him for the morning and then took Harry Bates for a ride in the afternoon. Bates was third outright in the RA40 Toyota Celica.
The Volksmuller gravel Rallysprint was held over the weekend of the 19th of May 2019 with 53 cars competing against the clock and each other. There was a mixture of modern and classic cars including a Ford Fiesta G4, V8 Audi, Subaru WRX, Ford Escort Mk2, Toyota R40 Celica, Datsun 1600 and plenty more.
The stage was set for some great competition with Richie and Louise Dalton winning the event in the G4 Fiesta. Michael Harding and John Hill were second in the Subaru WRX with the Classic Toyota Celica of Neal and Harry Bates rounding out the top 3.
