Good evening Calgarians and welcome to Housing Night in Calgary. So we're about a week and a half away from the April 22nd rezoning vote in Calgary City Council in which our city will either take steps on the Housing Crisis in our city or just punt it away to the next city council in 2025 or perhaps never.
If you care about
✅the Housing Crisis
✅Climate Change
✅Homelessness
✅Lower taxes
or you'd like us to be eligible
✅Fed Investment of 228 MILLION DOLLARS to create nearly 7000 new homes in Calgary over the next 4 years
then your city council needs to hear from you, either in the days leading up to the 22nd vote or on the day itself for the public session and for which there are a number of great Calgary organizations that are able to help you do so, the links for which we will post in the shownotes.
With us tonight are some folks from a few of those great organizations
Kathryn Davies is from More Neighbours Calgary, Hazen Elwood is from Strong Towns Calgary, returning champion Celia Lee with Sustainable Calgary and Rob Tremblay of the Calgary Climate Hub.
