In session 5 we learn how General Hugh McKay organises his Scottish Government army and draws up his battle line in readiness for the Jacobite rebellion and the Battle of Killiecrankie, the first Jacobite uprising. The issues he faced. McKay was a highlander and knew how they fought, which he says many of his commanders did not. He knew what was coming, what was his strategy to deal with this?

The first Jacobite rebellion at Killiecrankie is about the struggle of the two monarchs trying to gain control of Scotland. The conflict between Lowland Scots-English speaking culture and the Jacobite Highlanders who were a Clan based culture who spoke Gaelic. Link to Part 6 [ Ссылка ]
