What's a scam that's becomes so normalized that we don't even realize it's a scam anymore.

Personal responsibility. You don't have to take too many steps back from any given situation to see that person is the way they are and does the things they do for reasons that are outside of themselves. And if the ultimate reasons for a person's behavior are beyond their control, they're not at fault. Blame is a scam. Is it possible to live this way? I really don't know. Doesn't seem like it. So maybe instead of calling it a scam, we call it a myth to take the edge off. It's a story we tell ourselves to get by. I find that acknowledging this, if it doesn't take my anger away, at least makes it less vitriolic and more pragmatic. I may be pissed about how something went down, but blaming any specific person, naive. The universe is a roiling mass of causes and effects dating so far back it doesn't make sense to talk about in terms of time, and I'm going to blame that guy. For what?
