Wai Kru
(Wai means respect, Kru means Guru/Teacher)

Many people have the notion that Wai Kru, Pre dance movement performed before a Muay Thai
(Muay= Art of fighting) fight is related to Buddhism, and is not for other religions. But as the name suggests, it is just a warm up system performed to pay respect to one's teacher.

Of course, praying to one's God during the ceremony is one's choice, which many often do.

It is based on Thai culture...

Here I am putting up a video clip from the Muay Thai documentary made in Thailand, and we can hear from a world renowned grandmaster Kru Yadtong Senanan himself.

He has produced more than 50 Muay world champioins and many top K-1 and UFC professional fighters.
