Tikhi Puri is typically made in Gujarati households for dinner. Easy to make, They are delicious and not really tikhi/spicy. They are quite mellow in taste and truly addictive. You can't have only one:) .
The recipe shown here has oil added, and is fried surely. But these puris, if made as per the given instructions, absorb negligible oil

Tikhi Puri – Gujarati style
Though it is called Tikhi Puri, it really is not, unless you add a lot of chilli powder. It has a mellow taste and can be had as is. It is truly so delicious
2 Katori Wheat flour
1/2 T spoon Haldi Powder/Turmeric
2 T spoons Chilli Powder
1+1/4 T spoons salt
4 Tb Spoons oil
Combine all of these in a mixing bowl. Add enough water slowly to make it into a not-so-soft dough
Kneed it well
Make small balls from the dough, and press them with your palms.
Now roll them into small puris
In a frying pan, take about 150 ml of oil. Heat it.
Drop one rolled out puri in the oil and fry on both sides.
Do the same with the rest of the Puris
The delicious puris are ready to eat. Serve them with Dahi/Yogurt and Chundo (sweet mango pickle) or have then with Chai/Tea.
