Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN) and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) are jointly conducting a webinar on Thursday August 12th, 2021 at 11:00 AM PST on “Provision of Microfinance to Street Vendors under Ehsaas Rehribaan Initiative”. The purpose of this webinar is to create awareness among the microfinance community about the commercial prospects of financing street vendors and government facilitation in viable product development.
In line with Prime Minister's vision to improve local vending ecology, ‘Ehsaas Rehribaan’ initiative has been started to create an enabling environment for street vendors. The street vendors have been provided with improved carts and training to streamline local vending activities. Under the umbrella of Ehsaas, model vending carts with eco-friendly structures have recently been handed over to a select number of vendors in two sectors of Islamabad.
The model vending initiative is an outcome of a multi-partite collaboration between Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE).
