Let’s make a fresh batch of my diy soil mix.🪴✨

Your plants will thank you!!! This chunky mix is so easy to make and works for almost every one of my plants. (Succulents and cacti are the exception!)

Why not just use bagged potting mix? Adding perlite and orchid bark add more texture and prevent the soil from becoming compacted. Water is able to freely penetrate the soil to get to the plant's roots and then drain excess out the bottom of the pot. This well draining soil helps you avoid your plants roots sitting in water that eventually leads to root rot.

The mix I like is:

- 2/3 organic potting mix
-1/3 perlite
-1/3 orchid bark

But you could also do equal measurements of these 3 ingredients! Usually just depends on the sizes of the bags and what I have on-hand!

Using air-tight container makes it easy to premix and store. If you notice moisture in your container, open the lid every so often to let it dry out!
