In 1979 actor Frankie Verroca was quick to respond when "The Gong Show", taping in Hollywood, was looking for "unusual" acts. Frankie created a character and auditioned as Tony Christopher, the weird, off-beat, lounge lizard singer type wanna-be. You guessed it..Frankie got the role and that was 38 years ago !
