You can eat at many places in the Dumaguete public market. There are concentrated eateries and carinderias in one of the main buildings. A large company for a well-known soft drink has painted the outside walls of the small restaurants in red and white, and the round signs of a well-known cola brand adhere to all of them.
Then there is the so-called snack mile with semi-open stalls for cold and hot drinks and snack specialities, each with three attached stools, a table with two benches along one of the market streets.
Then there is something like an old market in an old building with an entrance right by the famous church tower. In addition to fruit and vegetable stalls, market visitors will find other quaint eateries here.
Everywhere I met funny, boisterous, somewhat reserved but always friendly people. On the snack mile, I also met a retired government employee who had several questions for me. I think she was satisfied with my answers in the end.
