I just picked up a Razer Nari headset today and was quite disappointed with the overall construction of the headset. I also found out that Razer has done nothing to fix the issues reported by many customers regarding the terrible microphone.
I am using the latest Razer Synapse software (3.5.730.72314) and the latest Nari Headset Firmware 15 r1.
I had to use VoiceMeeter to pass the microphone to OBS because OBS doesn't want to pick up the mic natively. This was issue #1, terrible audio drivers and firmware. Issue #2 was the terrible THX Spatial Audio engine. To use it you have to direct output to a virtual speaker called Speakers (THX Spatial - Synapse). This may not work with your favourite games. Issue #3 is you can't use anything other than the MME drivers with high latency. KS and WDM hooks either didn't work or produced sound in one ear cup only.
So the issue I'm demonstrating in the video is despite all other audio outputs being muted and the headset firmly covering my ears the microphone picks up sound from the left ear cup. So friends hear themselves talk on voice chat and your game sounds come through when you speak. This is a huge problem for a headset marketed for gamers.
The only solution is to severely lower the mic sensitivity settings to essentially gate the microphone input. You still hear all the background audio when you speak but when you're quiet it's not audible.
This is disappointing because I love my Razer Krakken 7.1 V2 and just wanted to go wireless with it. I expected more from Razer since the Nari was newer.
All in all, The Razer Nari is a terrible headset and I will be returning it if I can. Avoid. Do not buy this headset, especially if you are a streamer.
