The statewide bandh called in Karnataka by pro-Kannada organisations to protest against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu is underway in the state. The band began at 6 am and pro-Kannada activities held protest and sloganeering at different locations. Hundreds of protesters belonging to different organisations have been taken into custody from various parts of the state.
