Ballintoy is a hive of activity this summer. Kayakers of all levels of experience and all ages getting out amongst the unique coastal rock formations from beach and harbour. Lots of friendly locals and some visitors from further afield. Beautiful local scenery, with caves, rock stacks golden sand and a variety of wild flowers.
The harbour swimmers you see are all local folk, including some families. For swimmers - make sure you know the depth of the water and what's at the bottom before trying this. Always make sure it's safe to dive or swim first! The locals wait for good high tides to create deep water - if in any doubt ask people at the harbour or beach.
During filming I got to speak to the family who run the online booked Causeway Coast Kayaking. They were really helpful, safety conscious and had great rapport with their customers, so I've included their details at the end of the film if you'd like to try the Kayaking here. If you see them and haven't booked, just ask - you might be lucky enough to get a kayak on the day.
