This beef sate recipe is cooked using jimmy’s sate paste. It’s a very nice sate paste used by many Chinese take for their sate dish. The shops normally combined jimmy’s sate paste with peanut butter to make it a very peanut and aromatic flavour. I personally make my own sate paste which tasted different from this version.
Below is my beef sate recipe for you guys to try.
Beef sate (using jimmy’s sate paste)
Ingredients;
130g top side beef
1 teaspoon jimmy’s sate paste
1 large red chilli
Half carrot
40g sliced onion
Half green pepper
3 cloves garlic
Condiments
1 teaspoon light soy sauce
1g salt
1g MSG
1g sugar
Half teaspoon oyster sauce
Dash cooking wine
Dash white pepper powder
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon garlic oil (if you have it)
You will need to refer to my reference video on how to prepare beef for stir fry. I will be using 130g top side beef.
Cut the onion, carrot and green pepper into strips and slice the garlic and chilli into small pieces.
Fry the beef in medium heat for a couple of minutes and set it aside.
Clean and heat the wok with some vegetable oil and add the garlic and onion in the wok, let it sizzle for a few seconds then add the rest of the vegetables.
Next add the beef into the wok and some light soy sauce.
Stir fry for a bit then add some salt, MSG and sugar.
Next add 1 teaspoon of jimmy’s sate paste, cooking wine, white pepper powder and sesame oil.
Stir fry for a bit more and add so0me oyster sauce.
Add some garlic oil and stir fry thoroughly to complete the dish. If you guys don’t have any garlic oil, just leave it out.
