Russian President Vladimir Putin tells an African delegation hoping to push for peace between Kyiv and Moscow that he "respects" their "principled position", but insists that Moscow's Ukraine offensive is "irreproachable from the point of view of international law", adding that Kyiv's refusal to negotiate is responsible for the conflict's prolongation. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa told Putin that "this war must be settled", bringing the voice of a continent that has badly suffered from the economic repercussions of the fighting in Ukraine.
