Alan Fenwick is the Founder of Schistosomiasis Control Initiative, which is one of the top-ranked charities by GiveWell, a leading charity evaluator. The organization has delivered over 100M treatments for Neglected Tropical Diseases, and is one of the most highly cost-effective charities in the world.
Neglected Tropical Diseases affect over 1 billion people globally, most of whom have little or no access to life-changing treatment. Research and funding directed towards tackling this enormous disease burden is still disproportionately low. Prof. Fenwick will speak about the neglected tropical diseases, their impact on health in the developing world and the steps we take towards their elimination.
