Dr. Manuel Torres, Family Medicine Physician at Baptist Health Primary Care, says between 50 and 60 years old men start getting a lot of chronic conditions diagnosed, such as hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol and obesity, including depression.
"We cannot forget about the importance of mental health," he points out. He recommends being careful with your weight at that age and the portions of the food; a 55-year-old man should not eat like he ate when he was 18.
