The first two, a 6mm 3-flute reduced neck flat end mill and a 12mm single edge insert mill, I prove out different feeds and speeds, giving me some excellent surface finishes (for the machine!).
Having learnt a bit about the tools, I then move on to roughing and finishing a 3D surface using the 12mm insert mill and a 6mm 2-flute ball-nose end mill, again trying different feeds and speeds.
Overall, everything went pretty well! In the future I'll be making an aluminium fixture plate to securely fix the vice directly to the machine, instead of via some plywood and the vacuum bed.
