About five per cent of people who have caught COVID-19 worldwide may end up with long-term issues with their sense of smell or taste. That proportion comes up to about 27 million people. The study was conducted by Singapore, UK and US researchers and was published in the British Medical Journal. Associate Professor Toh Song Tar, Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery, at Singapore General Hospital, shared more details.
