Hello my Friends and Happy Valentine’s Day!
Are you looking for a delicious, elegant Breakfast/Brunch Recipe to serve for Valentine’s Day? You will definitely love these Red Velvet Waffles! These are so Rich, Decedent, and Delicious! You can also serve them for a Dessert or Snack! You will be in Waffle Heaven once you taste these!
Dry Ingredients
2 cups self rising flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tbsp white sugar
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
Wet Ingredients
1 3/4 cups buttermilk, room temperature
1/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
2 jumbo eggs, room temperature
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp white vinegar
1 tbsp red food coloring
Cream Cheese Glaze
4 oz (half of 8 oz package) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1/2 cup evaporated milk (or more depends on the consistency)
Dusted Powdered Sugar, Whipped Cream, Chopped Pecans, For Garnish, optional
For the Cream Cheese Glaze
In a large bowl, add cream cheese and butter; cream until fluffy. Blend in vanilla. Next add powdered sugar alternately with evaporated milk (began and end with powdered sugar). Blend all together until well combined. Set aside.
For the Waffles
Preheat Waffle Iron, Spray with Cooking Spray.
Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, sugar, and cocoa powder together until well incorporated; set aside.
Wet Ingredients: In another large bowl using a hand mixer, add buttermilk, oil, eggs, vanilla, and vinegar; mix until well incorporated. Add food coloring and blend until well incorporated. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix all together until well combined and smooth. Using a measuring cup, pour batter into waffle iron, cook until golden brown 7-10 minutes, Remove from Waffle Iron and Place waffle on a plate and drizzle the cream cheese glaze. Garnish with powdered sugar, whipped cream, and pecans and serve.
