Hundreds of protesters gathered in Staten Island on Saturday to demand justice for George Floyd, a black man who died after a white officer pressed a knee into his neck.
They chanted slogans calling on authorities to act swiftly.
The protest was held at the scene where another black man Eric Garner was killed by police in 2014.
The peaceful protests followed a night of violent demonstrations across the nation.
New York Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said more than 200 people were arrested and multiple officers were injured in the city on Friday night.
