This is about our 2nd visit to the Red Sand Dunes, which is located about 45 mins drive from Riyadh. A popular activity there is to ride on an ATV. You may also drive your car up to the dunes, sit there, watch people, and admire the sunset. Take care and keep an eye out for these as there is no real monitoring of activity in the area.

Renting an ATV won't be an issue. In fact, there are too many choices. Bargaining is a must. The first price offered is usually very high.
