Learn how to get dressed for polar snorkeling, step by step!
Step 1: Before you start, take off all your jewellery and make sure you have short nails! This is very important to prevent any damage to the drysuits. The neck and wrist seals are particularly fragile and sharp jewellery or nails could rupture them.
Step 2: Put on your thermal layers. You can rent our very warm and comfortable thermal overalls, or bring you own thermal under layers.
Step 3: Put on your drysuit. Zip the drysuit open completely and step in. Then gently pull the suit up and slide in your arms. Carefully insert your hands through the seals. Make sure your clothes are tucked away and the seals are flat on you skin. Now bring the upper portion of the suit over your head. Reach inside the neck seal and pull it over your head gently. Remove any hair from under the neck seal and flatten it against the skin. Zip up your drysuit by holding the top of the zipper and pulling the toggle down. Ensure the suit is sealed by completely docking the zipper.
Step 4: Put on your boots and tighten the velcro straps (note: some of our drysuits have the boots attached to the suit). Take your hood and flip it upside down, then slide the hood over your head. Make sure to tuck away your hair. Pull the collar down and fold it into the neoprene neck gasket on the drysuit. Finally, put on your gloves and zip them up.
