A 4.0 GPA can make it HARDER to get into an Ivy League College. In elite college admissions you should focus on maxing out the items on the red side of the chart. For these items, there’s no upper limit, you can always do them better, and they can always be stronger. For the items on the blue side of the chart, you should never try to compete on them. GPA and SAT scores only goes so high and above a particular level, the colleges stop caring about them entirely. For those just do the minimum and you’ll be fine.
