The fact is that one of the main sectors of the economy, which fell under sanctions with the onset of a full-scale war, is microelectronics. All mechanisms in a bus are designed for one microelectronics element, and then because of the sanctions we have to insert another one - for example, a Chinese analog. As a result, complex mechanisms spontaneously combust.
This is how economist Lev Lvovsky explains bus epic-failures.
Sanctions work in different ways, and some do not work at all. Sometimes politicians are more engaged in populism, for example, fighting the last Russian-speaking grandmothers in the Baltic states, while at the same time their companies supply chips for Russian missiles or combat drones in general. Of all the war-related sanctions, Belarus has been most affected by potash and transit sanctions. And the effect of toxicity, which is not a sanction in itself, seriously "damaged" Belarusian IT.
