In this video I talk about mulching in Avocado orchards in India. I have mentioned before that avocado orchards are self mulching, meaning, the tree sheds a lot of leaves over the years that it covers the surrounding area creating a beneficial mulch for its roots. But for the first three years you can add organic mulch. One of my customers is using rice stalks as a mulch in his orchard and I believe its a wonderful idea. I plan on trying it next year in my orchards.
