On Saturday morning, an Air India AI-1943 special flight landed in Bucharest to evacuate stranded Indians in Ukraine. This is the first special flight since the Ukraine route was closed. The 787 Dreamliner can carry 250 passengers, and it is expected to return at least as number.
Air India will fly two flights from Delhi to Bucharest (Romania) and Budapest (Hungary) on Saturday to help stranded Indians in the war-torn Ukraine. The administration is expected to operate similar aircraft to Ukraine's neighbors to remove stranded Indians. “Air India will fly two flights from Delhi to Bucharest (Romania) and Budapest (Hungary) tomorrow, February 26. Air India will operate VBM flights. Several explosions were heard in Kiev on Friday as the Russian special military operation reached its second day. On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged Donetsk and Luhansk as separate states. Putin then ordered special military actions “to protect” the Donbas residents. Foreign governments have criticized Russian military operations and levied penalties on Moscow. Several airlines, notably Air India, are conducting special flights to safely return Indian nationals. In the next few days, more flights from Ukraine (Kiev) would be scheduled for Indian citizens.
