No 302 'Poznanski' Polish Squadron RAF become very known in Aug 1942 during Dieppe operations with Spitfire Vs and used Mk IXs on offensive sweeps over France from the UK since Sep 1943 from Tangmere. Later in fighter-bomber role under No.131 Wing (with 308 and 317 Sqns), 2nd TAF from Northolt, Deanland, Southend, Chailey, Appledram, Ford, Plumetot (B.10), Fairwood Common, Lille/Vendeville (B.51), Deurne (B.70), St. Denis Westrem (B.61), until replaced by Mk XVI in early 1945.
