Inspector General of Police Nominee Douglas Kanja, has vowed to ensure that the police service operates within the confines of the law, should his appointment be approved. Kanja, who appeared to defend his suitability, before the senate and national assembly joint security committees, insisted that the use of excessive force by the police must not go unpunished.
