The Kerala government has decided to reintroduce content about Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru that was previously removed from school textbooks. Education Minister V. Sivankutty announced that new textbooks will be distributed after the Onam break in September. The Pinarayi Vijayan government had earlier promised to teach students about India in its true spirit. Reports also suggest that the Gujarat riots have been included in the history textbook. This move by the Kerala government aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of India’s history and its leaders. The supplementary notebook is going to be published with all the deleted content and distributed after September.
