The Jordan Pond Path is a ~3mi loop around Acadia National Park’s deepest (150’) and clearest pond that was carved out by glaciers!🧊 If a peaceful, well-shaded🌳 stroll by the water sounds like your type of hike, this path is for you!
Though the Jordan Pond Path is relatively flat and is generally considered easy👍, it does have narrow boardwalks, exposed roots, and one section that requires a bit of scrambling over rocks🪨. You can also combine this path with the North and South Bubbles Trail, which we also enjoyed (but hiked separately).
We highly recommend Jordan Pond House 🏠for popovers or lunch when you’re done 💡It’s a popular place, so reservations are recommended! ⚠️Note: There were a lot of bees 🐝 in the outdoor seating area when we were there in early September. There are signs saying this is common, so bring your epi-pen if you have an allergy, or choose to sit inside if you’d rather avoid them altogether!
🚗Parking at trailheads in Acadia National Park can be very limited, so if you’re driving, we recommend getting to the trailheads early! 💡You can also utilize the Free Island Explorer Bus🚌 - available on Mount Desert Island for Acadia’s busiest months, June-October.
