Thomas Ceccon, Italy (asked if missing out on a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics led to his success in Paris):
"Well that wasn't really nudged me on. I've always wanted that medal, and today I had the chance to take the medal and I did. What happened in Tokyo, my first two Olympic medals is of course important. I knew that I still had a long way to go, and I knew that I would have three years, not four, in between Olympics. But the goal always stayed the same."
