Gerresheim is a charming and historic neighborhood in the east of the city which is actually older than Düsseldorf itself. Gerresheim is rich with more than 1,000 years of history.

It is home to beautiful half-timbered houses, delicious cafés and a large pedestrian shopping area that is a great place for the whole family.

While you’re there, you should also check out Basilica Saint Margaretha and their fountain garden located around the side of the church, Gerricusplatz, the forest, "Little Italy" - all the delicious pizzerias in the area.
