16 March 2015: A panel of experts discussed the role the shadow economy can play in a country’s prosperity, and the best policies to promote the ‘right kind’ of shadow economic activity. Hosted in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education—Economics Institute (CERGE-EI), the Legatum Institute also discussed how informal and sometimes illegal economic activity can pose problems but also offer innovative solutions.
